Maher - Italian Expression

Glen Maher, owner-designer, got into the shoe business because he hadn’t been able to find shoes with enough flare for his wedding. He decided to design a range himself and thats when it all started.

A year-and-a-half ago he started a trial store in Christchurch and now he has shops in Wellington and Dunedin too. His long-term goal is to have 10 stores in New Zealand and Australia within two years. “I have now designed a range for women as a natural progression, and self-preservation because the ladies insisted on having a range for them – so what was I to do?!”

Nigel Peterson, the Christchurch manager, has been with Glen since the beginning and managed every store that has been opened. He chose Christchurch as his permanent place of residence as he thinks it’s by far the best city in New Zealand. (I think he’s earned an eye patch!)

Believing that fashion should be affordable to everyone, Glen has designed two ranges of shoes and boots, the Maher and the Maher X. 

They start from $110 for one pair, $199 for two pairs and $275 for three. They are designed by a Kiwi for Kiwi feet and calves.  Check them out!
