CITY MALL UPGRADE - High Street
The designers’ vision for High Street, City Mall, was to create a boulevard paying tribute to Christchurch’s history. The idea was to open High Street back up to reflect the processional path our ancestors took when first walking from the Port Hills to settle in Christchurch.
Building Renovations have also contributed to the finished result of High Street. One in particular was the total upgrade to the old Asian Food Court building.
Property Owner Michael Ogilvie-Lee tastefully renovated this building to an international standard and his vision has fitted well with the new-look City Mall.

The Air Bridge Removal was another pivotal decision enhancing the area. The air bridge cut across High Street, connecting the Triangle Centre to the Link Centre, and was major visual block. The decision required both the Council and property owners to agree on removing it.
The result was literally amazing, increasing light and the feeling of space in the area.
